Mental Health Center
Interventions
Outpatient Mental Health Center Services include (COMAR 10.21.17, 10.21.20, 10.63) but are not limited to:
1. Individual therapy
2. Family therapy
3. Group therapy
4. Psychological evaluation and testing,
5. Co-occurring substance abuse treatment; as a component of mental health treatment which will be indicated in the individual’s treatment plan. The progress thereof shall be reflected in the progress treatment and continued through evaluations and reviews. More services are available.
6. Whereas, Family Preservation of America is not the substance abuse service provider; with proper consent and if indicated will provide documentation of coordination of care and collaboration with the provider of substance abuse services.
7. The Medical Director ensures that the individual is educated and updated on use, effects, interactions, and potential side effects of all medication prescribed.
8. All initial diagnostic face-to-face assessment must be conducted by a MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL TEAM headed and directed by the Medical Director, or other Psychiatrist assigned by the Medical Director.
9. All services coordinated with the primary care physician, clinicians, service providers or care giver.
Ethics and Rationality
We provide services based on medical necessity; which means that Family Preservation of America's services and supplies will identify or treat an illness that has been diagnosed or suspected.
All services will be consistent with:
The diagnosis & treatment of a Condition.
Standards of good medical practice.
Required for other than convenience.
Most appropriate supply/level of service.
The needed care cannot be safely given on other than an outpatient basis
Multidisciplinary Committee
They consist of a Licensed Social Worker, a Clinical Mental Health Nurse and/or Professional Counselor; who meets to review diagnosis and assessments to ensure that it meets the criteria and rational for such diagnosis. They also ensure that individuals are not misdiagnosed, or mistreated, that services are provided at the highest level of care needed and the Medical Director Clinically confirms the acuity of the findings.
